Can't find quick pins for mounting 450 blower
 

Can anyone tell me where I can find the quick pins that pin the 450 blower to the frame of my 1211/1810 CC? I can't find them online. Parts houses say they're discontinued. I made a couple of pins but they're cumbersome to use. Thank you

If you are talking about "hair pins" or "R" clips or draw pin retainer clips, Tractor supply has them in various sizes.:beerchug:

According to the diagram in the manual, they look like a pin with a pull ring on one end and a spring loaded ball bearing on the other end. I haven't found anything at tractor supply that looks like them or compares in size. They're referred to as quick pins in the manual. They're just shy of 3/4" diameter. 5/8" is too sloppy.

Looks like they would fall out,prolly why they switched to the ones I show.
Do you have a part #?

My local do it best hardware store has a whole rack of those pins, not sure if they would go big enough though (11/16"?). If you have a hardware with a "big" nuts/bolts aisle they may surprise you.

However... I've had assorted things with those before and it never seems to take too long for that little detent ball to fall out and make the "quick" pins "instant" pins. I usually swap them for something else, even if its a nut and bolt, and I generally prefer loop wire pins. Not sure if they will work for your application or not.

I think I would use a clevis pin with either a cotter pin or hair pin instead though. I don't like how the ball in the quick release pins tend to wear a groove in the parts it holds together sometimes.
