Plowed the leaves today
We don't get much snow, but I have plenty of leaves. A couple of 2X boards and a piece of aluminum flashing material laid over the blade to give it some extra volume. Cost - 30 minutes and zero dollars. Result - priceless!

Looks like a mini version of a Cat D-11 with a coal blade. :beerchug:

Don't waste them! mulch them with gaters on your deck, makes wonderful soil enrichment! :beerchug:

Sam Mac -- that moving coal looks like one of the dirtiest jobs I can imagine.
George -- I pile them up in the woods behind the house. Keeps most of the undergrowth down and turns into rich compost in about a year. Then I dig it out and replace with new leaves. I have a really productive little garden doing this. |
Be careful don't let them get up in your grill. My brother-in-law was clearing some paths the same way for deer hunting. Got up in the grill and caught fire. Could have been real ugly and ended our deer hunting season.

I like your way of raking or plowing!!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

I watched a video of someone using a cub with a snow thrower on it moving leaves and said, I'm going to try that, so I did. and it works, blows leaves just like snow.
|
Did the same thing. Usualy how i test out a thrower if i get one in fall before snowfall
|
Not to derail this thread..... but snowblowers will also blow grain. So, for you farm boys that but up in grain sheds, or in piles outside just remember that. LOL.
Leaf plow. Is there a market for that? :bigthink: |

But what I need and I mean really NEED! Is an 3 point, pooper scooper! My 4 legged pup is a beloved member of the family, but at 138lbs, he poops like a full grown man. All over the yard! Gets in the treads on those turf tires and dries up like poop cement! |
