Choke cable alternative?

I'm looking for a replacement choke cable for a 1863, I cant see spending $35.00 for one has anybody used a different brand if so got a part number?

I just go to NAPA and get a universal choke kit and cut it to length and bend the cable end up and away you go. About $8 for a 6ft choke kit.

I did the same thing with a throttle cable on a 782 but used a general replacement unit from Home Depot. Worked like a charm.
