Snow Thrower Auger Blades

Has anyone ever attempted successfully rebuilding/replacing the blades on the snow thrower auger? Mine have curled over and yes, I have pounded them out from time to time, but it would be nice to start over and replace them at some point.

You can buy new "spirals". You just have to get it from a manufacturer of auger flighting. It is possible. I have rebuilt several farm/grain augers by replacing flighting. Never have done it on a snowthrower auger, but no reason you couldn't. You could even get heavier flighting so it won't bend as easy. :beerchug:

Wow, thanks for the info... learning new terminology here on this post... flighting is a new term for me. Assuming no one makes flighting for my QA42 snow thrower anymore, would length of auger and diameter with pics be sufficient for a manufacturer to "punch" one out?

Cub Cadet never offered replacement flighting. Only a new rotor. Yes, it can be manufactured in any size, shape.... ect. It is ordered to spec and made. Google "replacement auger flighting". You'll find pages of manufacturers. Check with a local welding shop. They may be able to order some for you easier than you can find it.

You shouldn't need custom made flighting
Try this place
