1872 project CH Re-Power
Hey Sam, here is a new thread.
for all those that are wondering, i have a command 20 engine that is in a 2186 tractor and has 316 hours on it. runs, but front axle is broken. so, i want to pull the v twin out and put it in my 1872 that is motorless at the moment. so, if anyone else wants to chime in with their experience or advice i would appreciate any and all input. |
Easy way to do it is to use the following parts out of a 2084 or 2284.
1: Motor plate 2: Drive shaft (complete) 3: Muffler 4: Pump adapter from Jeff in PA (splined style) 5: PTO depends on what the shaft size is on the CH, if it 1.125 you can use the 1872 PTO other wise a bushing and off set key way or use the 2186 PTO 6: You will need to fab up some duct work, no big deal. |
Thanks for the info Sam. I have one more question. What about wiring? What do I need to do to make the 1872 wiring fit the command?
|
Best guy to ask about wiring would be Roland, but I'll see if I have a diagram.
Edit: If you are OK with doing away with the fuel shut off solenoid the wiring is simple. |

Here are both wiring diagrams for the 1872 and 2186. that will get you off to a start, but you need to check if the wire for the ignition goes to the proper states to start and turn off.
