1872 project CH Re-Power

Hey Sam, here is a new thread.

for all those that are wondering, i have a command 20 engine that is in a 2186 tractor and has 316 hours on it. runs, but front axle is broken. so, i want to pull the v twin out and put it in my 1872 that is motorless at the moment.

so, if anyone else wants to chime in with their experience or advice i would appreciate any and all input.

Easy way to do it is to use the following parts out of a 2084 or 2284.

1: Motor plate
2: Drive shaft (complete)
3: Muffler
4: Pump adapter from Jeff in PA (splined style)
5: PTO depends on what the shaft size is on the CH, if it 1.125 you can use the 1872 PTO other wise a bushing and off set key way or use the 2186 PTO
6: You will need to fab up some duct work, no big deal.

Thanks for the info Sam. I have one more question. What about wiring? What do I need to do to make the 1872 wiring fit the command?

Best guy to ask about wiring would be Roland, but I'll see if I have a diagram.

Edit: If you are OK with doing away with the fuel shut off solenoid the wiring is simple.

Here are both wiring diagrams for the 1872 and 2186. that will get you off to a start, but you need to check if the wire for the ignition goes to the proper states to start and turn off.
