54" Push Blade
1 Attachment(s)
I recently order a new Cutting Edge for my 54" Spring Trip Blade. I ordered it from Extreme Motor Works [CC-27-012] . I ordered the optional extra thick edge [.250"]. When I got the edge, I noticed it was just a flat piece of steel, .250" thick, 54" long, and with 9 mounting holes cut in it. What surprised me was, I would have thought there would have been a "beveled edge" at the bottom. See attachment, I got Style A and thought it would have been Style B.
Am I wrong on my assumption...??? |
I've never seen a cutting edge on a Cub blade with a beveled edge so I'd say they did just fine. :beerchug:

One would assume it would be a beveled edge. Although I don't think it would take very long for a bevel to be worked in. Run it up and down the neighbors driveway with no skids on a few times and there is your beveled edge. J/K:beerchug:

i thought he had what looked like scaled down version of real cutting edge. just went and looked at site and dont look like its there any more

I would think if the blade was beveled it would wear much faster. So at least both sides should be beveled so you could flip it around to get much more life out of it.

The 54" haban blades came with a piece of 1/4 X 3" flat bar with no bevel.

I don't think you'll have a problem with it. After I used up the factory edge on this plow I put a 3/8" X 3" piece of bar stock on it. :beerchug:

The square cut will wear in. They were square to begin with. I have a never been installed 6 way blade for a round fender 110 JD. It's not beveled.
