1811 progress report and issue

So we finally got enough snow to test out the 1811 and it did great, it almost didn't start because the batt is junk but other than that it ran great and I really like the sound of that mag 18 when its working. My only issue is the hydraulic lift is very slow and I'm not sure what could be causing it, it didn't get any faster once everything warmed up. I left the plow up when I was done to see if it creeps down so I will go check later tonight, ideas on this issue are welcome. Here's some pics.

1st thing I'd check is the linkage for the valve and see if it is going full stroke when you move the control.

Good to hear it worked Tim:beerchug:
Don't know why the lift would be slow, as I said earlier mine on the 782, 1650 are very fast to raise... Good luck.

I went out and check the valve as Sam suggested and it would appear I'm getting full range of motion on the valve, there's barely any slop in the link and the handle is about a 1/8" away from the dash at both full up and down so its not hitting anything. I left the blade up when I was done and went out a few hours later and it was still up so in my mind that would rule out a bad cylinder.

On the top of the valve I see a hex plug, is that a pressure releif valve?

Tim

Pressure is regulated at the pump. Download the service manual (this one seems to be working)

Tim the 149 that I acquired a while back did the same thing with the hydraulics being slow. The kid I got it from said he had changed the hyd fluid trying to get it to go faster. I never gave the filter a thought until I talked with Jon. I changed the filter per his suggestion and man what a difference. The filter I took off weighed about twice what a normal filter would weigh. Plugged up pretty good it was. Something to think about. Kelly:bigthink:

The fluid and filter are new, the filter is a wix. Thanks for the suggestion, I wish it were that easy.

I would change it again,a small fee for peace of mind.
BTW I use a fleet guard, Case IH sells them for 11 dalla.

I've changed new fluid and reused it. Drained it into clean pan, the ran it through two layers of cheese cloth. Then try a new filter. Then you're only out the price of the filter and not the fluid...
