Anyone here into old Jeep Willys?
2 Attachment(s)
I was turned onto them by my friend, and i got my first jeep FC-170 this weekend. It's very rough to say the least, but sweet :beerchug: It is a 3/4 ton model, straight 6 super hurricane motor paired to a spicer t98 transmission. Mine is missing the Dana 18 transfer case, but it shares the same power train as some willys jeeps, trucks, and wagons so i should be able to find one. Or, maybe i will transplant a 4BT into this sucker :biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:
(yes that is a cub in the background, i will post about that later on) |

FC-170 is kinda rare.
Maybe you can use the T/C from the CJ5 in the background? |

Very cool forward control kyleb, definately don't see many of those. Im still in a jeep club although not very active, sold my yj but still have an xj. Some of the most capable 4wds ever made IMO. Keep us posted with pics!

My family has always been a jeep family, I myself have an 06 tj as my daily driver but I grew up with my dad's collection: 3 50's era CJ-5's, and 4 CJ-2a's. The 56 CJ5 and I had a love-hate relationship, I loved it but it would NEVER start for me when I needed to plow the driveway with it. As soon as my dad showed up, it would fire right up ( I was following the exact same starting procedure FWIW, making it particularly infuriating) but the cj-2s would always fire up immediately for work or play, whatever the weather! I'd love to find an old FC and a Willy's wagon too, but I love my wrangler for now and my 78' dodge ramcharger too!

Nice FC! A guy down the road from us has a few, and a couple Willys pickups. I have a 89 YJ with a Mercedes diesel, my brother is into the Willys. This is his CJ 2A, we took it for a ride on the parkway this year:beerchug:.
