IH guy finally gets a real CC
 

Hi Guys
I figured I ought to introduce myself. I am a longtime IH truck collector, everything from Scouts, Pickups and Travelalls to my cabover Transtar and 6x6 R190.

I recently traded a 75 3/4 ton IH pickup for my ~67 CC 125. The guy I made the trade with is a bit of a CC collector and included with the tractor a 1A tiller with extensions on both sides, a 36" snow thrower and a 48" deck with mule drive. From another buddy I picked up a push blade. My goal is to eventually repaint the the tractor and accessories and add either electric or hydraulic lift and some lights.

I have several questions in regards to my new toy.

1.) The blower has the ID plate painted over. How do I identify what model it is? Also do anyone know the belt length to drive it?

2.) The tiller tines are pretty good at the moment but are replacements available?

3.) The mule drive is missing some pieces, namely the tensioning device that goes from the pulley arms to the drive frame. I am assuming it is just a threaded rod or are there tension springs involved?

Congratulations on the cool toys.

From what I can see of the thrower it appears to be a QA 36. I can't see enough of the mounting bracket to be sure it's a Quick attach, but it looks like that's what it is. The chute is not a QA 36A style chute.

The Cub Cadet part number for the belt is 487-043-R1 there are some that suggest that the dimensions are 3/8" X 28" but I don't know that for fact.

IIRC in recent posts the guys have said that tiller tines are still available. Hard to tell from your picture, but those tines look pretty good.

Not sure what parts are missing from your mule drive but one side uses a tension adjuster and the other side uses a spring. Some people use an adjuster on each side when they use their tiller. There are good tension adjusters available on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/191716239421...84.m1555.l2649

Still getting the "ERROR 403" message when trying to look at a pdf of manuals.

But I think the tiller mule drive consisted of solid steel pullys and two of the treaded adjusters, no spring.

Blower Belt
 

The blower belt that you need for the Q-36 blower is indeed a 28 inch belt. I use a car quest belt made by Gates belts the number is 2280 or 4L280 this should work nicely for you congrats on all the stuff:beerchug:

I kinda thought it was the QA as it mounts up the same way the mule drive just with a couple extra bolts through the frame. On that note, how do you keep the QA latch from rubbing on the snow thrower input shaft?

I have downloaded several manuals but don't think any of them have the mule drive in it to see how the tensioner is assembled. Good to know they are still out there even though I could machine one if needed.
