Belt Adjuster - QA-36?
Replaced a broken chain tensioner, got everything working great this fall.
Finally got enough snow to blow in Cleveland last night. Worked fine. Blew again this morning, worked fine. Until. . . . The darn wire I rigged to hold the tensioner let loose. Again. Pull off gloves, play in the grease zone down there, ugh. Seems the thing just refuses to want to stay tight. I can figure how the factory bracket could actually work either. What's a really good fix for this annoying thing? http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ps04k5hu8z.jpg |
Drill a hole in the side of the mount close to the adjuster
Thread it for a 1/4" bolt. Use a long enough bolt to catch the ear of the adjuster to keep it from going out of adjustment. run a nut on the bolt, screw it in the mount and and another nut to the back side. Tighten both nuts against the mount to keep tight. |
