Crazy neighbor generosity
So I live next door to a single mid life woman that has trouble getting around, but is always gone somewhere with work, family etc. She can get by on her own, but I'll help her out when I can.
The other day she stops me on her way home from work and asks me if I cleared her driveway the last time we got a large snowfall. (remember the posts about clearing ice snow? I cleared her driveway before I did mine.) I told her I did, and she was very appreciative and thankful that I was helping her out since it's hard for her to do it herself. (she would have just shoveled it herself.) I tell her it's no big deal because I enjoy doing it (seat time) and I would hope that if the roles were reversed I'd want someone helping me. She then disappears into her house and comes back with money. I told her I didn't want it, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Here's the kicker...she said it's for wear and tear. I was laughing inside because I use my 147 with a front blade to do it and she's concerned about wear and tear! :ROTF1: I'll also mow her grass in the summer. She did something like this in the past and I used it to buy a set of front tires so I guess it is working out.
Funny how people are. Thankful though that those types are still out there.
