SGT FL project
I can't found a super around my neck of the wood but many old SCUT show up on local add every spring, few Ford 1220/1210 ,old beaten Kubota and ton's of JD but I found a nice IH 234 lately with only 248hr on the meter, apparently they use to be build by Mitsubishi. He got a rear PTO, auxiliary hydraulic connection, hydro tranny, new rear wide tires and rims, battery, water pump, block heater, a diesel engine and a good frame I can built a FL on. Asking price is $3750 in your US money.
Only missing on my list for a SCUT is 4WD and power steering, but I can live with that, what do you think guys? http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTk3WDgwMA...Wy2Jr/$_27.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjAwWDY5Nw...Wy2Kb/$_27.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTk3WDgwMA...Wy2Kd/$_27.JPG |
saw one of those at red power roundup a few years ago. looked pretty cool to me.

Looks pretty good to me.:beerchug:

Nice, I like the low hours.

I can think of better tractors (OK more desirable to me) to buy with that $$. Not a terrible price however, and I don't see them for sale that often.
|
They are nice little tractors. I had one I sold roughly 6 years ago. Mine had turfs on the rear and a 60 inch Woods deck under it. 1200 hours, ran like a top, sipping fuel. Sold it for $3500. It sold FAST. Some IH guys are collecting them too. Mine was 2WD as well. Price probably isn't too bad, but always depends on location, demand, etc. I'd offer $3000 while waving it in front of them. You can always go up, not back down. Good luck and keep us posted. :beerchug:

Good looking little tractor! I'd love to have one of those!

They aren't grey market tractors. Nor are they really that rare, they just didn't build them for very many years. They are way more popular in the northern US states and Canada though. They aren't bad, but a little under powered in my opinion. I've spent time on one.
Don't put a loader on it. They really aren't heavy enough, and without MFWD, you won't ever be able to get traction. If you want a loader on a machine that size, you need 4wd. Daniel means he would buy an old M with that money. I think your on the right track, but like I said, if you want to run a loader, find a 4wd. |
have a loader on my super. trust me you WILL want power steering and you WILL want 4 wheel drive.
