1512 diesel

Well i just opened a a can of worms here just got back from Maryland with this 1512. I have a feeling at first i am going to have some regret with this but after i get this fixed i'll really enjoy this thing.

Got the 1512 have the side panels and trans cover just pulled them off when i got home came with a cat o 3 point hitch, newer 50" deck nice and quiet and a nice leaf collector. It does start right up and runs nice. The hour meter worked when i looked at it but didn't survive the 5 hour trip home.

Needs some work.
cooling fan bearings
cooling fan belt and tensioner pulley
general service
front end work needs spindles and tie rods
then the worst issue of all the input shaft seal is leaking and the shaft has some wobble to it so most likely going to need a rear end.

Any input is welcome.

I wouldn't rush it just to make a show, take your time and make sure it's right. There's nothing worse than being towed back to the truck past a bunch of guys on John deeres, take my word on that.

If it's not ready it wont go. If all goes well i will have the last part needed for the sleeve hitch for the 782 so i'm going regardless.

Now will a cast iron rear end out of a wide frame work for me? i have a lead on one for 100 bucks.

no it will not.looks like you need just the ported pump off it.

that fine i need to check all the bolts seemed tight i want to just double check tomorrow with the rear fenders off. Any idea what cast iron rear ends work for me i know it needs to have external brakes.

I think there is a problem with the fuel tank clearance issue,it will hit the cast housing.
