KT-17 Series II, carb rebuild
So last night I went to rebuild my new to me 682 with the Walbro carb. I just did 1 last year with great success. There is a needle not sure what it is called that sits under the float that comes with the kit. The last 1 I did it was just the needle replace it an boom your done. This 1 the needle had a little wire that clipped over the float an attached to the needle on it. The rebuild kit did supply that an included a note that walbro had 2 different styles for that needle an to use it if that was the style you had. Well that wire went flying when I went to install it an I could not find that bugger any where.. So I just installed without it. Put everything back together an all works great. My question is will this be a problem or should I buy another kit just for that wire.

That little wire helps to pull the needle away from the seat in the event the needle sticks in the seat.
A lot of carbs never had it. If it should give you a problem sometime, a little tap with a screwdriver handle solves the problem. I would not buy another kit for just the clip, unless it becomes problematic.:beerchug: |
Agree with George.
I will add, you will likely never have an issue with it because you have a fuel pump. |
Ok thanks for the replies . Going to go with it. Runs great the way it is
