Diesel trike differential

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,
I don't actually have a cub, but all my research for a differential for my diesel trike has led me here. My vehicle is 10hp with a gross weight of no more than 650lbs, and a cruise speed of 50 mphI eventually want to up grade to upwards of a 20 hp diesel, so I might as well build a diff that can handle future needs. I'm still learning about the different housings, axles, and spline combos. Best I can tell there are course/fine splines, 1"/30mm axles, 1/2 piece carrier. Hoping a single piece carrier with a coarse spline will be sufficient. Any advice is appreciated.

Interesting
what engine and transmission?
how about the clutch?

10hp, Chinese, diesel Yanmar clone transmission is a Comet 94c CVT clutch. It runs about 50 mph. I tried running a peerless 100 differential, but it didn't hold up. I just bought a coarse spline carrier and axles off eBay. I had to convert it to a trike due to a brain tumor that partially paralyzed me.

i assume you will have a sprocket bolted to where the ring gear bolts on. dont see why that wouldnt workbut unsure how you will enclose it to keep internals and carrier bearings lubed. but if you can figure out how to make a diesel trike im sure you will figure this out also looks cool keep us posted
