450 snow blower on my 1811
Just bought the snow blower, haven't hooked it up yet, waiting on a lift linkage part I ordered. Any words of wisdom before I get it hooked up? Anybody else out there with that set up?

i think you will want wheel weights and chains... oh and a face mask cause most of the time youll look like the abominal snowman when done using it...but thats part of the fun trying to blow snow with the wind helpin you

Ok, got it hooked up tonight, flipped the pto switch and I heard a click but pto on tractor didn't spin, so it seems like the switch works but maybe something in between, any idea?
Also, GT383mag I agree with putting on chains and weights, this snowblower weighs a lot! |
It is a heavy blower. But will blow like crazy (I have a 450 on an 1811) Weights and chains, yep.
Check the belt tension. If you hear the click with the PTO switch it likely means the mag clutch is engaging, but maybe slipping on the belt? (the blower has a toggle to throw to put the tension on the belt). But make sure everything turns freely by hand (in case some problem with the auger or blower gear box). |
