1A tiller gear box to tiller belt alignment

What do I need to do to get my belt pullies to line up ? When you are at the back of the tractor looking forward the big pully is cocked to the left how do I fix this ?

I had the same problem with one of mine, so I switched the upper arms from one side to the other and all was good.

I was informed by another member that the right side arm is made for the belt guard to bolt to it, since I don't have any belt guards I didn't realize there was a difference.

IIRC the other member said that he had to bend one of his arms, he may be along shortly to tell you exactly what he did.

Is it still when you set it down?

You can adjust it some, but for the most part, it's just their nature. I've heard some guys say sometimes you can swap the upper links side to side and it helps. Another note, how tight is the belt? It doesn't have to be super tight.

I adjusted my upper arms using a hydraulic press. You can see the results here: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=43136

I took the arms off and compared them. It was clear that the angles were different. I figured out how to bend each so it would match the other. I decided that adjusting the right arm would rotate the tiller so that the belt would be in alignment. I bent the arm using a hydraulic press so that the angles matched the left. You can see the results in the above post.

I tilled up a garden for my wife this spring. The tiller worked great!
