My Second Cub Cadet

The 124 you guys and I went through fell through? The guy was a complete ass and I wouldn't give him $5.00. But I have found one I think is even better. Not shown but included is the mower deck and a push blade. The old guy restores these and this one has been restored. 800.00 for it all?

Nice 122! Looks like it's worth $800, since it's restored and has the attachments.

looks good other than the decals on the hood, there backwards and way to high up. it should look like this.

I could get him to fix the decals. 800.00 is a lot of money to throw at it, but if I buy one that needs work, it will be costly? This one has all the 3 point hitch and spring assist already there and working. Is there anything else you guys can tell me about the old girl. Like what year is it and so on.

Cub Models are based on production runs and are not "year specific" but the 122 is circa 1966. It is bulletproof and if well taken care of will be around long enough to see a republican get into the white house. You paid a reasonable price based on condition and extras, you got yourself a gem my friend.

You did well - you can drop $1000 on parts pretty fast.

It's a good deal provided it really is restored, restored means alot of different things to different people. Some people think new spark plugs and a rattle can paint job is a restoration, ask alot of questions about exactly what work he did and also ask if he has any receipts.

Thanks Guys,
I will ask what all work has been done. He did tell me the push blade would need metal added to it. He said it was rusted pretty bad. Where the hub caps an extra? You can see them in the first picture.

Nice looking 122. One thing the 124 has over it is the quick attach (QA) still not a big deal just a little more convenient. The hubcaps I believe were only on the 82 series tractors, somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. My 782 had them when I bought it from the original owner, I took them off in favor of weights.

I actually think the hubcaps were available as an option as far back as the 70/100 era. Those cubhaps :beer2: have been painted silver rather than re-chromed. They should have a mirror like finish to them.
