Newbie and a 782D

Having found a diesel Cub and then finding this forum, I jumped in the deep end and started a total restoration. I've done several farm tractors and a couple of antique tractor trailer rigs, but this is my first Cub. I plan on doing the gear reduction starter and the glow plug relay updates as well as a steering column rebuild. Everything else will get cleaned inspected and painted with repairs as needed. I've seen some mighty purty tractors on here, I hope I can keep up my end! Here's where I'm at so far ----

Let the fun begin!!

Well- a little progress has been made. The fuel tank and radiator have been cleaned and all the black color parts have been bead blasted and repainted. One color down and three to go, Kubota blue, and IH red and white. My wife has been "impressed" that either UPS or FedEx has been to the house every day last week delivering restoration parts. The fun continues!

Next up will be to pull the rear axle from the frame and perform the clean, service and repaint sequence. Yes it's black, and the gun has been cleaned and put away too. Am I the only one that always forgets at least one part that needed to be painted a certain color when you thought you were done?

You've been busy! Thanks for the update and pics.

Saturday seems to be the day I get the most time in my shop and today's project was to get the engine back in the sub-frame and hang all the rebuilt accessories. Valves have been adjusted and new glow plugs installed. It got a couple of coats of genuine Kubota blue paint to freshen the look. All new hoses for coolant and fuel. Still looking for a 7/8 " heater hose for the lower radiator hose. PTO and fan shaft have new bearings and a gear reduction starter installed. Radiator has been boiled and pressure tested. No turbo ---- YET! Can't wait to get this thing back together and make some smoke! Here's a couple shots of the "power pod"
