My new XT3 GSX

I picked up my new GSX last Friday. I opted to save a little money and install the mulch kit on the 48 inch fabricated deck myself. Installation was easy , change out some factory baffles , change out the blades and remove the chute. Reinstall the deck. Easy job.

Took some photos Saturday morning before my 1882 left for a quick side by side line up of size.

I have to say. I love the new one. Everything on it seems very well made. The dash panel items feel much more solid than the deere I looked at. so far I've only mowed with it but the 25 hp engine feels like it has power for days. I have to get used to having saftey switches that the 1882 didn't have in use but that's just something I have to get used to vs something I don't like. So far the deck cuts great. Didn't have any scalping issues. The electronic power steering feels responsive and worked great. The electronic deck lift worked great also. I do have to say that I love the exhaust note this thing has. Very strong sounding. I'll update with videos and other stuff soon. Got busy going other projects but so far I totally love it. Yes I know I could have "restored" by 1882 with the money spent on the new one and have money left over but hey you only live once and I got a new one.

Congrats on your new cub!

Congrats. It should have plenty of power, I've seen 3200s with 60 in decks.
Glad you like it! Now get to making those videos :beerchug:

Very cool but I still like the Super in your 3rd pic better. I'm old and I know how to keep the oldies going, the new stuff not so much. Wish you all the best with the Newbie. :beerchug:

I am glad you are happy with it. Keep us informed on how it performs. Also, you could have installed a new 25hp engine in the 1882.

Edit: Did someone on here get the 1882?

Sam,
I think as we get older we dislike change and those old things remind us of our younger days possibly.
I like some new ideas like these 'puters because of all the knowledge they make available.
Now to find "fantasy island" :biggrin2:

Pat, that looks like a very nice machine. I can see a lot of 3000 series stuff on there and a few upgrades too. Let us know how you like it. Pretty nice to have a beverage holder and locking differential too but those vintage Cub guys will never know.:biggrin2:

Pat, congratulations on your new cub. I thought I read somewhere that there was an app you could get for your phone that displays something from the cub. Maint? hours? I'll have to see if I can find it again.....

Nice tractor! That tractor should do all the work you need without the hassle of constantly fixing. Looking forward to your comparisons to the old cyclops you had.
