New from Ill-inois...

The title having to do with the state budget issues, which does mess with me in my job as a fleet mechanic for them...
I have been messing with small engines since I was 12 or 13, now "late" 40's.. have had lots of Sears Roper ("Suburbans" etc) tractors, a couple Deeres, throw a way box store ones etc over the years and always wanted a Cub cadet since I got to use a 127 at my cousin's house growing up, and my neighbor had a 109 or 129 all the while I grew up down the road from them...Dad was too "cheap" to buy a good machine, "they all cut grass, why are those so expensive"? basically if he couldn't get it from Sears we didn't have it.
I now have a 129, a 1200, and a 1650 that is "parts" (no engine, other stuff missing too) my son has just finished a nut and bolt overhaul of an Original, and my buddy's 1200 and 1250 that will also be mine when he is "done" with them, that I have to maintain. These last 2 have been in his family since new back in 1977.
in the last few months thy have been multiplying like rabbits.
I need a couple of good decks, a lift rod for a QA42A snow blower, and at least 1, 3 point setup. and that is just for starters.

being able to figure out IH's model and serial number system on attachments like decks would also be a big help.

The plan is to take the ported pump and hydro lift from the parts 1650 and put into the 129. Then find a 3 point for it.

:Welcome2: again!

"50 years of Cub Cadets" by Oscar Wills is a good reasonably priced book that gives a good overview of the history. The cubparts.com site is my best friend. It takes some getting used to, but if you play around with it enough, you'll get the hang of it!
