Using non-Cub mower deck?

Wondering if anyone has done it? Neighbor has a Husqvarna with a 54" heavy duty deck, wondering if anyone has tried to use a non-Cub deck on a Cub tractor. Yeah I'm sure it will need some mods, nothing will bolt right on. But seems like if the front & rear brackets are put on the other deck & pulley is inline & right size, should work.....? Other than the physical size fitting on the tractor.

Pull behind's work great.

Yes, with the right tools, equipment, know-how and desire, there is no reason you can not put a different brand mower deck on your Cub Cadet.

Keep us updated with your progress.

Check out my thread below on mower deck repair. It shows what was a pto driven 60 inch from a 5000 series Cub Cadet adapted to my 1872. It can be done if you have a mule drive and suitable undercarriage to use. I had a rusted out 46 in GT deck that I got the mounting brackets and jack shaft pulleys from to do the conversion. Since I modified a Haban 60 in undercarriage to hang it, it works very well. One thing, you need to make sure that you get the blade speed correct for the deck. I had to do some calculations and did change one pulley on the jackshaft to correct it. Good luck.
