GT2148 ? problems

I bought a 2148 with the back up mow feature. That feature seems to work but when you turn the key to forward motion it quits. I been using it in the back up position to mow the grass, will that hurt anything? Also it steers real hard and I noticed the front wheels toed in quite a bit and was wondering if it was ever set up right from the start. When you buy secondhand you take quite a chance especially when you are a novice. Appreciate any advice. Still looking for a pump for my wounded 2166, kinda scared of Ebay stuff. Thanks

Do you have the manual for it? I have a copy in PDF I could send you, there are front end alignment instructions for the tractor on page 23.
Or...here is link the manual. It's in Canadian language, so no y'alls or throwing toilet paper over houses.

Just looked at the parts pic on the Cub parts site, looks like they have redesigned the steering gear from the older 2000 series stuff. The older steering had 2 grease fittings on the aluminum casting. One for the shaft for the steering wheel and one for the pivot for the sector gear. Your going to have to poke around and find out where they are on your tractor. Get some grease in it and also grease the axle spindles. Just had to replace the pinion gear on the BIL's 2180. Guy doesn't know how to use a grease gun. :beatdeadhorse:
