KT17 Oil Fill plug size
What is that Plug size please? I'm looking for a replacement that doesn't have a 5/8 square head on it. I don't have 8 point sockets and I would like to make it easy for my wife to top off the oil. A simple wrench is a bit spastic with the air cleaner and Engine cover surrounding the Fill Plug. . it would be nice to drop a socket straight down on the plug.

Is that 'extension' the part that was on the 782's? Mine just has a Plumbers plug. Stock or just someone 's brainstorm, that is a nice idea... Get the screw off end Up and above the Engine Cover. If I knew the thread size on the engine, I could make one of those easy enough.

STD. 3/4 pipe thread tapered in the block.

3/4" tapered pipe. perfect. I'm too far away from the machine to pull it off and run to the store. I'm home and the machine is 200 miles away. I try to prepare at home before heading up most weekends. I was thinking of doing a Fill mod and then realized I didn't know the thread size

I got a 3/4" pipe nipple and cut a small "V" in it and welded it up, literally making the one pictured on ebay.
I used a 3/4 pipe cap as a closure. @ the time I needed one, there was none on ebay. But for what little they go for on ebay, it is not worth the effort to make one.:beerchug: |
