Mower deck problem
I finally got my 100 up and running. I just need to paint the hood and put the new decals on. I straightened out all the bends and wrinkles in the mower deck, put a new belt on and tried mowing. The deck has a large blade in the middle and two small ones on the ends. The large blade cuts way lower than the small ones. At the lowest height setting, it scalps the dirt and the smaller blades barely cut. At the highest setting it still cuts a little bit. Any ideas as to why the blades aren't the same with each other?

I kinda sounds like the front of the deck is too low or the back is too high.

Thank you YS.

pull it out from under, flip it over and check to make sure the blade tips are all at the same level.
Is this outfit new to you and not used by you until now? i.e. the previous owner might have installed a spindle or two that bolted in lined up with the belt but had a longer or shorter spindle length below the deck. |
Yes, new to me and never used before by me. The blades look even and not bent. As YS suggested, the front of the deck was way low. I have a couple of more small adjustments, then I'll test it out and post my results. Thank you 07.

make sure the fork on the mower frame is on the shaft under the foot boards and not above it

Thank you to all who offered solutions. The next few days we"ll get everything straightened out. Will report back with results.

I checked the blades, and changed the spacers on the rear hangers on the deck. Now the deck sits level and it mows very well. Thanks again to all.
