44c Deck Help

Guys,

I've had the 682 & 44c deck since new so it has burned a few tanks of gas & I've done my share of repairs over the last 28 years.

My problem is trying to get the blade cutting height above 2.25" to something more reasonable like 3.0 - 3.25".

Is there a site that has found a good way to achieve this? Looked through some of the past threads but no luck as some of the links have been disabled.

May try to fabricate an adjustable link with an offset for the left side but the overall deck design does not seem to allow higher grass cutting heights. Have tried using a duplicate adjustable hanger like the one on the right side for a few years with reasonable results but this creates some other alignment problems.

TIA

Just a suggestion, my 1200 started to mow lower and lower, I thought the linkage was worn, which it was, especially the round crossmember the step bracket is on that acts as a pivot point....but I eventualy found the culprit.. It had cracked the pin that holds the lift arm to the rockshaft and it was very slowly rotating on the shaft, allowing the deck to drop.

I replaced it and now I can lift the deck high enough to clear some of the random rocks in the yard...

Roland,

During a search I located a thread where you inserted a link labeled "Deck".

The email was dated 04-05-2010 & sent at 07:10 AM.

Clicking on this results in a error on both of my computer systems at home & at work so I could not access the link.

Please send to me directly if this will help my situation:

Thanks

IF you are looking for the Manual for the 44C deck, go to our Technical Library -Implement Section, and locate the thread for the 44/50C decks. Click on it and it will bring up that manual.

I know your 682 is manual lift but on my 782 all I have to do is adjust my height knob on the frame and it'll cut 3" when I lower the deck.
