Root Ripper

I needed something to tear up some bittersweet roots, so I built this "root ripper". I gave it a trial run this morning, and it worked pretty good. I was able to break an oak tree root which was about 1" diameter, so I don't think the bittersweet will be a problem. I even added some saw-tooth cuts to let the roots know what we're up to here.:biggrin2:

What's the disc on top for? :bigthink:
So you can flip it over?

Looks like it's just for weight.

Oh, it's a weight......
I see now.

I like it!:beerchug:

I may have to build a larger version for the Deere to take care of those 4-6" poplar roots.:bigthink:

I wonder if it could rip permafrost in the Alaskian gold fields. :biggrin2:
