Golf cart front hubs on a Cub Cadet?
 

Has anyone measured golf cart front hubs to see if they might be adapted to use on the Cub Cadet front spindles?

For what purpose?
Same size spindle, so no added weight bearing ability.
So you have to unbolt 4 nuts instead of 1? That sounds like more work.....

Yes, there are hubs out there that go right on the front spindle to give you a bolt on rim.

So... I want to hear your opinion.

You answer a lot of questions on here, by referencing your one build on of the two Cub Cadets you own. (Two is all that I could find you have posted about, you may own more.) You own and run a lot of equipment, so I trust your judgement on uses. You did upgrade your spindles... most all of us remember the extensive you work you did to that one Cub.

You run a QA42 snow thrower on it I believe, which is quite a bit lighter than a 450 style snow blower. In the roughly 200 hours or so I've ran my 450 on an 1811, I never wore out or broke a spindle. So, I think it's safe to say that the blower isn't too much for the standard set up. I don't see that you own a loader or add any other weight otherwise not added to any other stock front end Cub.

So, here's the question.... how did the spindle upgrade benefit you? If you say yes, be careful, as your axle probably was in need of a rebuild anyway.

You have done some really cool custom builds. If your going for a particular look, or a different tire set up, then I understand what you are doing and by all means go for it. What I'm saying is, unless your going for something particular, there is no benefit to the cost unless you also upgrade the spindle by doing something like twoton did, or TIM CRUTCHER. I just like the 4 or 5 bolt hubs because they "Look Cool''.
Also it allows me to use narrow rims on the 1" Spindles on the "Super Steer" axle.
Here is how I did one.Actually,my Buddy,Jesse Reed Made up the hubs for me.I used OEM Cub Cadet 1"ID x 2"OD front wheel bearings.
Of Course Aaron at EXTREME Motor Works makes some SUPER NICE front front hubs also.

Plus,I am using these on my next build.
(Whenever I get a Shop.I sold my old place and am looking for a new place,and the house I am renting does not have a shop)

I do like the look of the 4 bolt hubs and rims on those customs. So you gonna spill what the next build is going to be or do we have to wait until you start it?:popcorn:
