122 help
1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone, I'm working on a 122 for a friend and it has a rear pto. He is wanting a rear sleeve hitch installed to start taking it to plow days. The issue I'm having is when I'm trying to put the lift bar on it's hitting the lever for the rear pto. Am I doing something wrong? Or was a rear lift not an option with the pto? Thanks.

You can't have both I don't believe.

That's what I believe is going to happen. This is the first garden tractor I've have worked on with a rear pto. So learning as I go on this one.

The easiest way to solve the problem is to remove the rear pto and mail it to me.:biggrin2:

Yeah, what Tim said. Or you could ship it to me, they're just in the way anyway:beerchug:

Maybe a little grinding is needed on top of the bar ,no need to send Tim the rear PTO.

If it was an Original you could do it by grinding a radius on the bottom of the casting bracket to clear the bearing retainer.

Don't know about a 122 but here's my 100 w/rear PTO and a 3 point installed
No problem. However, I did have an issue installing the 3 point on the 126 I recently restored. There was a hunk of casting flash on the side of the gearbox that had to be ground off to provide clearance. Are you sure you don't have an issue there? I had to split the Cub in order to deal w/that. |
Thanks for everyone's input. I won't get much time to work on it again until the weekend. I will give an update on what I figure out.
