Quietline Motor Rail Modification

This modification is done to extend the life of the ISO rubber mounts, provide better motor stability, and reduce motor vibration.

(A) Acquire a piece of Flat Stock. The dimension is: 1.50" x 8.75" x .25"

(B) Weld that piece of flat stock to the two existing motor frame rails as indicated in the drawing.

The motor will bolt up as indicated in image #2 & #3

You can purchase the following part and modify it by cutting the rear brace

The width of the steel is important because of the clearance needed for the oil pan, and the belt coming off of the PTO. As you can see in Richard's diagram, there is 1.5" of clearance from the front of the cross brace to the pulley (when using 1.5" wide steel)..keep in mind though, the belt doesn't come 'straight' down, the angle will vary according to the mower mule drive pulleys, etc. The 3/8" thickness will not affect anything. You could run your 2" wide steel through a bandsaw and cut it to 1.5" wide.

Make sure you use the proper/correct ISO mounts from an IH or Cub Cadet dealer...also make sure the front snubbers are good, and once you do the cradle mod, and install the new ISO mounts..make sure to set the proper clearance on the snubbers. Also, since the engine will be out, it would be a great time to install new flex couplings on the driveshaft.
