Road trip for supplies

I haven't actually set foot in an IH dealership in 5-7 years--there just isn't one near here. My supply of IH Low Ash 30w engine oil is practically gone and I have been out of Hy-tran and substituting Hy-gard for 2 years or so.
So this morning I decided me and the boy needed to take a road trip--good experience for him as he has a learners permit. We made a trek to an IH dealer I like to pick up some Low Ash and Hy-tran as well as a steering cylinder rebuild kit for one of the farm tractors. It was a 1 1/2 hr trip--one way---that's why the big brown truck brings my parts! Anyway it was a great trip and the kid even remarked it wasn't as boring as he thought it would be!
I did get a sticker shock--qts of oil are about $7.50. I don't really know what we have been paying for car and tractor oil as we buy it several cases at a time from a wholesaler. For the heck of it, 30W Havoline is $5.50 locally, Valvoline is $6.50--so I guess the price isn't too far out of line. The gallon jugs of Low Ash were only about $23. Hy tran was like $76 or so, within a buck or two what I pay for Hy-gard.
Now I just need to get in the shop and use this stuff!

Those prices are what I pay also at my IH dealer. I'm spoiled cause my road trip for supplies is about 7 min. :biggrin2:

Looks like an advertisement for IH...if only that truck was an IH.:biggrin2:

I don't think their prices are bad, I just don't have one close by either. I think Rotella cost me about $4 a quart and you probably didn't pay that for the Hy-Tran.
