Ingersoll tractors

Any of you guys have any experience with Ingersoll 3018's?

Ingersol picked up the Case line of garden tractors maybe back in the late 70's early 80's I believe. Always seemed well built, I had an Ingersol 6018 BHL back in the 90's and it was a great machine very heavy duty with a 2 cyl Onan engine, I think they were a well built machine in general but can't speak for that particular model.

I have a 3012, nice heavy duty garden tractor. Hydrive system works great in them, and the hold back valve is integrated not an extra like Case. Mine is an early 90s model with only 130 hours on it. My favorite features, plow down pressure, no drive shaft, can pull my Cubs of equal size backwards with ease.
For more info you can check out the Case Colt ingersol site

if it wasnt for kubota and sub compacts, they would be the sliced bread...my 10hp 1971 case weighs 80lbs more than my 169......:bigthink:

I can't remember what case/ingersoll we had growing up but my dad bought one after the 444. It had big rear tires, hydraulic everything, ran the same hydraulic tiller. Only thing I didn't like about whas that for some reason we could never mow in reverse because it would peel the lawn up real bad. Other than that, awesome GT

yeah they dont have the engineering of the cubs...its like a lot to do a little but very stout machines...

You know, Sam started this thread but has been real quiet about it since.....:bigthink: Me thinks he is being seduced by that orange paint AGAIN. I think we should intervene and offer up a sun-faded red 82 series.:BlahBlah:

I have not pulled the trigger on it. Just trying to learn about them before doing so. Looks like parts are expensive. Not overly crazy about the hydraulic system.
I would prefer to find a nice Cyclops that is within a reasonable driving distance.

I went to the 50th anniversary of case/colt/Ingersoll at garden tractor daze 2 yrs ago and they had a shed full of them....even a steel wheeled ingersol tribute tractor, every model brand new...beautiful cases of all years and even original colts.....but I'll tell you what, when they were all gone there was more puddles in the floor than I had ever seen before.....they are built though Sam...expensive yes but if you go to that forum you'll see those guys are nuts about em....I love my little case....actually I would prefer a big wheel case 440-446 vs an Ingersoll but its just a name really and some sheet metal... they are still almost exactly the same ....kinda like cub.....well until they became crap.....no plastic hood on an Ingersoll either.....
