White rattle can paint
Well I have searched the forum, tried a bit of manufacturer cross referencing, and I still don't have a close recommendation for the proper rattle can paint for the 50C deck to go under my 1811. I'd like to be close, not perfect. Not interested in going to get a qt of paint mixed up. I read Rust Oleum canvas white is a close match, any one here ever use it? The deck is in great shape except under the cover--well my cover is missing. Anyway that area is a complete mess. While I have the deck apart for cleaning and rebuilding I want to put on some paint. Any suggestions? I've got most major auto stores, Lowes, Home Depot, TSC---just don't want to drive all over town for $15 of paint.

Rustoleum almond is as close as I have found.

John,
I had really good results with Valspar 5339-15 IH white. I used it on my Haban and 1782 rims last winter and it turned out really well. I was leery at first because the cap looked really beige but it turned out to be just the right amount of white. Bad news is... I had to order it off Amazon.. My local Car Quest had one can but then couldn't get anymore...:bash2: Post number 6 shows the white pretty well http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...t=yellow+haban |

Canvas white is too white like Lew said almond. It will look too beige by looking at the cap but it's close as I've found in a non-IH paint.

I use canvas white.
It turns a little more almondy w/age. I feel the almond is more of a later Cub color, like the Cyclops. All you mid-westerners.... Get your butt to Theisen's before Sunday night. 16% off on their big red bag sale. I picked up a years supply yesterday for $3.35/can. I cleaned 'em out!! |
Another vote for Rustoleum almond. Don't know if would match for touch up on original paint but I painted my deck with it and it looks good.

Rustoleum Almond is also what I used for the 50C on my 582. It was pretty close but I didn't really look that hard either. On a side note, Rustoleum also makes a primer for heavily rusted metal that I used on the underside of the deck after I cleaned it all up with a wire cup brush and I was pretty impressed on how long that stuff held on there.

Call up the closest Case IH/Cub Cadet dealer and tell them you want IH white Rattle can paint. Typically if the parts person is competent enough they'll take a CC over the phone and ship it.
