Son lost interest
Hey guys, very sad decision day for me. My 14yr old has decided he does not want anything to do with collecting leaves or moving snow for people. So now I have quite a collection of attachments and a 782 that need to go. Also struggling with space. Going to work up to getting them in the for sale section. Really sucks. I figure part of his trouble is me pressing him to do his own maintenance.
Thought I would toss up a list of what I have. Keeping the 2072 for my fun but will have no use for all this stuff now. -782 IH built series 1 motor. vribs up front and lug tires in the rear. dual hydr. Re-bushed the front axle pivot a few years ago. Extreme hitch stretched hitch arm both float and non float lift arms. weighted tires. Seat is not real good. LED headlights. Generally clean and well maintained. -hitch trailer ball attachment -hitch receiver hitch attachment -50c mower deck. -QA42A thrower very good condition. (Can add elect chute control) -42 inch blade with hyd angle. fresh cutting edge -2A tiller -rear leaf bagger -Home built rake for rear hitch -home built shredder/chipper -set of 75lb IH plastic rear weights -4 or 5 sets of cast IH wheel weights -Rear tire chains |
I am confused. Is this posting a For Sale Ad, a what is it worth ad....or what..??
:HeadScratch: |
Yeah I see it is confusing. There will be a for sale. And I fear also a what is it worth. I am feeling the pain of having to do this and so did not write it very well.

I was trying to share that I lost a young enthusiast.
|
OK.....you are venting. You cleared it up.

I think you should hang on to everything, because in a few years, he will be interested again.
My son is 18 and loves all the tractor stuff. When he was 13 or 14, I lost him for a little while to video games and girls. He is back now and I think your son will too. Randy |
Mothball the tractors and when junior asks for $$$ to go and play tell him it's good to want. You want $$$ go get a job. When I was 16 and got my drivers lic. I said to Dad that I thought he would give me a car, his answer was well you thought wrong. I got the message. Sometime we as parents need to be hard on the kids for there best interest. I wish you the best.

I'd keep them for a while if I were you. I understand completely about kids interests changing. He may come back to them. I never thought my son would quit playing baseball but he did, now he's into golf. Wouldn't surprise me for him to eventually play church league softball or adult rec ball one day--he still loves baseball. If you have the shed space and money is not an issue, keep them. If he was making money with them, maybe he'll start making car/gas money and tuition money.

I'd keep them,
Temporary...... |
Being 14 he probably just realized girls exist, he'll be back to the cubs in a few years.
