The 2182

My brother saw this on CL and gave me a call, so I picked it up today.
PO sold the rear tires off it, but it is complete. Parked because of a leak in the trans 5 years ago, outside, in the rain and got seized up. :bash2: Apparently water got into the engine through the air cleaner inlet and into the engine. :bash2: Not going to bother with getting it running, even though it has 167 hrs on the clock. I will pull the head and see what is salvageable. :bigthink: |
What a waste of a really expensive tractor.
Too bad. Should have some good parts to sell though. |
167hr? Talk about "$crewing" a expensive reliable engine. It's a shame!
We can't save them all but this engine deserve a better end I take it from you for a fair Lew price! :biggrin2: PS: great score :beerchug: |
If you got it cheap enough it may be worth dropping a CH22 into and making it into a 2284. :bigthink:

Yes A shame,some people.....
I was thinking the same Sam,but I have to take the deck off, which is pretty ratty first,to look into the tranny leak, I did see bolts missing on on the lower mounts by the pump. |
Sounds like an organ donor. Too bad. :beatdeadhorse:

That is a dang shame for such low hours. Nice grab, Lew.:beerchug:

Thanks gentlemen.

Sometimes you get lucky and can free up a stuck engine.
