Chains or Studs ?

After attempting to plow the 6 inches of snow from my driveway with my 1200 and a set of turf tires, I had to back the tractor into the garage and pull out the snowblower. I could not get grip on even the slightest incline. I expected this, and wanted to just give it a try. I have about 1000 studs from my ATV that I've been staring at. You guys think I should stud the turf tires, or just by a set of chains. Keep in mind, that the tractor was bought with the intention of pushing snow, not cutting grass.

Chains and loaded tires or wheel weights. :biggrin2:

That'll handle six inches of snow real well. Even on an uphill slope if it's not too steep.

Ayup. Another vote for chains and weight.

These folks know their stuff. Chains and weight. Lots of weight.

All of my snow moving Cubs have chains and loaded turfs.

Just guessing, I'll bet there are 6 of them. As far as that goes the chains and loaded turfs are on all year round...

I know it's been said before but I've tried chains and AG tires. The chains and turf tires seem to work much better.

chains/studs

Using (2 link V-bar chains) on turf tires. Plain chains were not so effective for us.

Chains, weights and filled tires works great

I have weights on there now, but with turf tires they do nothing. I guess I'll have to penny up and order chains.
