1910 Standard Marine Engine
1 Attachment(s)
Probably the coolest thing I saw at the Flywheelers show today and had to share. Apparently very rare, open crankcase Standard marine engine. Has an oiler that runs off the cam with an eccentric. Helped the guy figure out it had one blown head gasket after he got it running but is only the Second show he's run it at but has been under construction for the last 20 years as most parts for it that it needed had to made from scratch. A marine engineer had to design and make the missing mag components and it got retro fitted with a flywheel and regular starter. Impressive to watch it run and just an awesome piece of history. Guy said originally it had a 36" prop!
