Just wanted to say hello and post a picture of my new to me cub. Names Travis and I hope to learn from everyone here about what I have gotten myself into lol. I have absolutely zero knowledge about these things so anything you'd like to add I'd appreciate.

Welcome ! Nice looking rig !

Welcome!!! Interesting rig you have. Cannot tell exactly what model you have from the one pic. My guess is it is in the 147 149 or 169 series of tractors. Interesting setup with the front end loader and rear blade. Looks to me to have an electric winch to operate the rear blade.

Thanks for the warm welcome! The tractor has 128 on it and has a gear drive transmission. I was wondering why it had a slot for a creeper but no stick to engage it? Using the loader isn't very enjoyable being first gear isn't slow enough in my opinion. It looks like the original owner homemade the rear blade setup with an electric winch for lift. I've since taken the canopy and rear blade off as I have no use for either. Main thing I'm interested in is it worth making this tractor slower or should I look for another with maybe a hydro trans?

Just researched your 128 a little. Your tractor fits in with what we know of as Series 6. That group of Cadets consist of Model 86, 108, 109, 128, 129, 149, and 169. This series was in production from Sep 71 - Oct 1974. You can add a creeper dive which gives you three more speed options all slower than 1st gear. This can create another problem. With the creeper engaged you are not supposed to change gears. Adding a creeper isn't just a bolt and play you also have to install a shorter driveshaft. This means transferring the clutch assembly to the new drive shaft. It is possible to bolt the creeper on without splitting the tractor but it is much easier with the rear detached.

Thanks for the information! I'll do I little digging around to see if I can find a hydro tractor to swap this loader onto.
