105 can't get max. rpm setting @ 3600 ?
 

Bought one of those laser tachs online. It read 2800 rpm @ wot. The old Tiny Tach went belly up last year, and it never read over 2900 rpm. Adjusted governor arm per manual, new Kohler points, set timing (static setting), set carb per manual, new plug (gap @.035). Then it read 3100 rpm. Bosch Blue coil & Transducer from Kirk were already on board a year ago (BIG difference in cold start). The throttle cable stay arm was mentioned as a part of the wot adjustment, but I'm not going to proceed until I get a better idea of where I'm going with this. Any thoughts ?

Adjust the arm stop where the throttle cable connects, and the throttle cable as necessary.

Thanks for responding. I have the manual & will try the step by step again. Probably over thinking it.
