"extended" fleet maintenance

So as far as I know, everyone here does their own repairs and maintenance to the equipment you own. How about keeping other folks stuff running? Not talking about stuff you get paid for working on, I'm talking about maintenance on family members, elderly neighbors, etc. Due to some unfortunate events in 2015, I now keep my mother inlaws, sister inlaws, and one of the wifes aunts lawn equipment maintained. They did great running it last year, I serviced everything really good in the spring and never had to do anything else all year. They are running a new Deere, 30 year old Deere, and about a 7-8 year old Craftsman. Hopefully I won't find any surprises with everything this year. I got to get to work ASAP as one of the mowers has a dead battery. Right now I couldn't get a weed trimmer inside the shop!:bash2:

Besides my fleet, I tend to the power equipment of the tuba player in my band. He mows with a box store JD that keeps me busy, but he has a very nice older Toro push mower and 2 immaculate Airens snowblowers from the 70's that look like they were bought yesterday. He talks me up to the other guys in the band, and now the trombone player wants me to build him a cub like my 125 so he can show off around his neighborhood.

I get to do my stuff, the 2 BIL's, the step son's and the neighbors. The BIL's are the worst. It's never routine maintenance always when they screw something up and they are always filthy. :bash2:

Once I started collecting these Cubs, I discovered I have more friends than I remember. :biggrin2:
I take care of Dad's Deere, my sisters Crapsman, the little leagues fleet of absolutely abused stuff, and a couple of neighbors.
If I took what they paid me and 5 dollars, I could buy a cup of coffee. :biggrin2:

I don't maintain the neighborhood's equipment but if something isn't working they know where to come.

Well, my Dad's a (former) IH mechanic who works at a Lawn and Turf equipment store, so he does his own maintenance. If not my younger brother who still lives at home does it. My in laws push mow their yard and my FIL isn't inept so he maintains that fairly well as far as I know. My brother in law (wife's brother) lives on a tiny lot and mows with an electric push mower. (which basically makes me :ExtremeFunny:) Not that I couldn't maintain other's equipment, no one asks me to. I do have a friend that asked me to help him hook up his snow blade to his big box store mower but never got around to it.

I do the maintenance for my parents on their cars and equipment. At the start of the "season" it seems all I'm doing for a week or two is maintenance. Keeps me busy
