1806

I bought a 1806 about a month ago for $400. Works like a champ. I'm new to this whole "man" mower thing, so here goes. The other day the drive shaft flange went out. I got the drive shaft and clutch assembly out. To be honest, I have no idea how. Maybe because there was no bearing in front of the clutch. I don't know. Installed the new flange and now I can't get the drive shaft and all back in the mower. I can only get 2 of the 3 pins lined up on the clutch itself cause the driveshaft is hitting the coupler assembly on the creeper gear. The whole driveshaft/clutch assembly needs to move forward about an inch to receive into the coupler assembly on the creeper gear. Is it easier to pull the engine or pull the rear end?

Some will argue but I would pull the engine. In fact take it out and remove the tins and give it a good cleaning.

I would pull the engine. Take the front off first and you wil have plenty of room.
