Grease zerks

What is the best way to remove pressed in grease zerks? These zerks are pressed in the spindle shafts on my 54'' deck. Thank you for your time. :American Flag 1:

If they are pressed in and working, why do they need removed?

That's what I was thinking.

Buy a cheap coupler for your gun, like my uncle did, and they just pull right out when you're done greasing. :biggrin2::bash2:

What Travis says is true especially if the gun builds up pressure and it won't take grease and you try to remove the gun.

I'd say if you just want/need to change them, grab/clamp them vertically with a set of vice grips and twist and pull and they will come out. Then run a 1/4 x28 tap in the hole and put new fitting in

:Morning: Thank you Fellows for the replies. J-Mech, I need to remove them in order to press the pulleys off the spindle shaft.

Well,
you could use a deep well 7/16",3/8 drive socket to push on, and leave the
"nipple" in the shaft :beerchug:

:Morning: Thank you for the great idea Fellows. I will do it that way. In my old age I think I burnt up all the smart brain cells now I am working on the dumb ones. :American Flag 1:
