I have seen these two listed on CL for the past several months. Looks like he gave up there and moved to eBay. I believe in his ad he said something along the lines of "I know what the parts alone are worth so don't try and offer me half my asking price." Some people's children...

That's extreme, I love cubs but not for that. I'd give him $600 for both. I don't see any gold plating on either cub.

There has been a 129 on the local CL for over a year with an asking price of $500.. tractor looks very nice, much cleaner than either of those with admitted rust holes in the deck... and that one's still for sale too....
