Integrated weed trimmer?
 

Ok, so mowing the lawn seems to be a multi step process with my 2182 and 60" haban. First, mow the lawn. Then, since it doesn't mulch worth a darn, pull behind the lawn sweeper. Finally, since it doesn't get really close to things, get out the string trimmer. One thing I really hate for some reason, is getting off my butt and having to walk around the yard to trim everything.

So, my question. Why couldn't I mount a string trimmer to the front left corner of my haban deck? Near the wheel? I have a cordless craftsman trimmer that uses the c3 tool batteries, and it runs for a long time. So if I mounted a trimmer near the left front edge of the deck. Then when going close to the obstacles, push the button so the trimmer string spins just outside of the deck at the same level as the cutting blades. So it would cover from the blades, to just beyond the deck and to the edge of the obstacle? The string advances automatically, so no bumping required. Cordless, so no cords or gas engine to worry about. What do you think?

Years ago I posted here, I bought a cordless hedge trimmer at the thrift store for 4$ ,wired it to the batt. and use it on red cedar bushes as I ride along.

That's a good idea if you had hedges to drive next to.
