Hiddy I'm new on here. I have been looking for a garden tractor for a long time for the right price or course.there top dollar where I live even for junk.I found this 128 for 200 bucks. It does need some tlc but it's cut my yard twice .it does smoke a little.im in the middle of replacing the bearing and races on the deck.heck of a job considering I've never done it.But I have it apart and am gonna get a race pusher thang tomorrow. YouTube helped me with the race thang. . I also need to have the generator/starter rebuilt it works but it's got a bearing that sounds like gravel. I was gonna replace the bearing but it's stuck. I guess it's pressed on. Idk.. I'm happy with the little tractor . I wanted it for ground attachments. I have been looking for the rear lift where I can add the Brinley hitch but all I can find is one list for a narrow frame. Would this work for mine considering it's a wide fram . I thought the only difference with the width was around the motor part?

Nice find on the 128. You will need a sleeve hitch for a wide frame tractor, narrow frames won't work. To run a plow you will have to add the sleeve hitch adapter. Here's a picture of one of mine for reference with a sleeve hitch and adapter with a brinly 10" plow. It is a narrow frame. Good luck in your search. Once you get that stuff you'll likely find the need for a creeper gear and a spring assist. It is sometimes difficult to find Cubs down there but I have run across some good honey holes in my travels in and around Tennessee, mainly east

What is the spring assist ? Does it make lowering and raising the brinley hitch easier? I don't thank I need the creeper gear. I only have a 2000 sq ft garden. I really don't necessarily need the garden tractor. More of a want.i like the old heavy made stuff. Nice looking tr actor by the way

Nice looking Cub and congratulations on the purchase. If you are planning to do any garden chores with your Cub, a creeper gear will probably be something you want to check out. You will move entirely too fast and will likely tear your tractor up.
