1812 rear PTO?
The past couple weeks I've been building my 3 point hitch and switching the drive to foot pedal. While having it apart I've noticed the shaft comes straight out the back of the hydro pump. Now I haven't researched this yet but I thought I'd just throw it out there. Would you need a gear box for the pto or just straight out with a coupler and adapter for a spline pto?

Post a picture of your 1812? Has the Hydro unit been changed? I do not think the 1812 came with a rear PTO option.

I think if you want one you will have to make your own. Not worth it cause there isn't much for implements that use the rear PTO. |
Can't put a rear PTO on a GT. Battery box is in the way.
All hydro's had an output shaft on them. No matter what tractor they were in. The Sundstrand U15 hydro was used in hundreds of applications. |
Sorry guys got a little tied up. It's just an output shaft out the back of the hydro pump. It has a direct shot right out the back of it. The only thing I would use one for is a rotary tiller. And yes the battery box is in the way. I didn't really think about that. I'll post up some pics tomorrow. My 3 point will be all finished. Still tweaking on the foot pedal. I'm not taking the hand lever off. I'm just disconnecting the linkage to pump valve. This way it can be connected back just like its intended. My 1812 didn't have a backplate on the rear and I'm not sure if they're supposed to from factory. My little 2155 did come with one. So for the hitch I made my own plate. It's pretty sweet. Still have to fab up some lift arms though. No biggie, I'll just get some ends from martins down the road and weld em up to 3/8x2" flat iron. Temper just a bit so they won't bend.

Cookieone, the 82 series tractors did not come with a back plate but one from a Cyclops series will fit it. Here is what my 1811 looked like with one installed.
Attachment 85213 The output shaft turns the same speed as the engine. I'm sure something could be rigged up but you still need to get the ratio's correct and somehow fit a clutch in. I would just run it off of the front pto. Attachment 85214 |
If you want a tiller, you need to go with the 2B. It was the one made for an 1812. If you're thinking about going to the rear PTO 3pt 48" tiller.... obviously you don't have the rear PTO. Plus, it's a load on the chassis for the SGT tractors with a longer frame and more weight out front. I don't know that you could even carry that tiller with a GT. Stick with what was made for the 1812. :beerchug:

Model 400? Has it's own 8hp engine. And a 3point adapter.
That's what parts tree said fits a 1812. |
My master plan for a tiller is to get an old front tine tiller and convert it to go in the 3 point, they can be had fairly cheap and the modification should be simple as long as you have access to a welder.
