Don't hate me, John Deere...mowing tracker...kinda really cool

Guys, don't hate me but I may have watched a John Deere Zero Turn mower video while browsing around on youtube. While watching the video, I found out that they have come out with an app for your smartphone that lets you not only track your mower maintenance (who needs that, really; only a John Deere owner :biggrin2: :beerchug:) but also lets you track your mowing, passes, and mowing statistics on your phone. Ok, now that's kinda cool. I installed the app on my phone and selected a mower model with the same size deck as my Super (54"). I started it up and checked out the mowing tracker option. This option should allow me (because I need this, of course :biggrin2:) to track my mowing pattern, speed, area covered, etc based off my phones GPS. Could be a neat little tool to try out. Since I just mowed last night, I'll check it out during next mow. Thought you guys might get a kick out of this :beerchug:

So... Its like mapping, that you would use for a planter or sparayer, for your lawn mower...

Is it autosteer ready?

That's the same thing I said to Cadetbob when I texted him about it; what's next GPS autosteer?! :biggrin2:

Edit: I think it's more of a "rough guess" style of tracking. More to tell you which pattern you should use to mow based on what patter you've used in the past.

AutoSteer is sweet! I loved playing with that stuff when I was with Deere.

ya,
you stick your tongue on the window of the cab and your palms on either side of your head while the tractor is driving itself.
Just like going to school on the short bus and licking the windows :biggrin2:
but whatchagonnado when da satellite goes off-line? :bigthink:

I'm pretty sure I can wing it if the satellite goes offline :biggrin2:

Ya that works for a lawnmower, but pretty difficult with a 12 row marker-less planter or GPS guided sprayer without foam markers :biggrin2:
Sometimes I think we are too dependent on gubber-mint run things.
