Lawn sweepers

Anyone using the tow behind sweepers? How well do they pick up clippings?

I have one and it works pretty well, it takes a bit to get them set just right.

I had a used Agri-fab (good brand, btw) 36" sweeper. Worked really well for leaves and pretty good for grass clippings. I used to use it to sweep the first few cuts of grass up to use as a garden bed and it always gathered more than I needed so no complaints. If I had more use for them, I'd gladly grab a new big ol' Agri-fab sweeper and use it. Setting them right is the trick; once they are set, they work great.

What they said. I have an Ohio Steel that I use just for leaves and considering my grass when it's mowed is almost 5 inches tall, it works well to brush the leaves right out of it.

Tim are you asking about an IH sweeper specifically or just lawn sweepers in general?

Just in general

I've got the orange Agri Fab, it's 42 or 44" (I don't recall) it works great in leaves and is really good on dried clippings. I think I'm going to use it as Jimbob stated next year and collect clippings for a garden.

No. 2 sweeper with a nos hopper. Faster you go better they perform.

No 1 sweeper, same deal as the 2 just smaller. Can fly in 3rd gear with them. New sweeps are still available for them

Second the thoughts on the Agri Fab sweep

I have a craftsman that I think was made by Agri Fab. It works on both leaves and clippings. I have found it works best on clippings if I let them dry for a day.
