1772 three point hitch - no lift
 

I just purchased a Cub Cadet brush hog L4D2 or L49 I'm not sure. I just purchased it this spring, my 1772 diesel would pick it up at idle. Now it won't raise the three point even at wide open throttle. Need to pick up the brush hog to help it raise. I know there's a port on the hydro pump that can be shimmed are perhaps the pressure valve is bad is there a way of checking this? Need some help I sure need to brush hog my property.

I would change the hydro filter first.

I agree. The shims didn't magically change.

It's probably a plugged filter. This topic comes up frequently, changing the fluid while you're at it would also be recommended.

I change the hydro fluid and the filter last fall when I added the extreme Motorsports traction bars. Like I said work like a charm for a short time now it stopped without the brush hog on the tractor the 3-point works just fine and so does a 60-inch Haband deck. I know the brush hog is lot heavier sticks out way in the back that it needs more Lyft. The pressure valve on the tractor is located in front of the two reverse forward valves correct? You're saying shimming doesn't really work? Got at a loss here.

My lift stopped working a few months after a fluid/filter change, I put on a new filter and it went back to working.

If anyone has ever pulled that rearend apart and put gobs of silicone on the bolts to seal them up, the silicone will bunch up on the Bold dry out come detached from the rear end and go into the sump had this happen on an 1864 that I bought a couple years ago. Previous owner had the rear end apart and used a silver silicone-based sealant on the bolts. That stuff has flaked off and got into the suction tube ahead of the hydro filter and plugged it up. I just Jack the front end remove the hydraulic filter clean the stuff out, spin the filter back on, and it works good. The chunks are always huge.
