What is the drive system in that thing?

It's sunstrands prototype hydro. Same drive as we have just naked.

The thing i wondered about was why it has the wrong decals on the hood?

Maybe somebody put them on there after they bought it. Cause it says hydrostatic. And they are on the wrong sides.

Like Tim, I was curious as to why that decal was used. However, that is my favorite decal of all of the narrow frames.

Charles Ricketts built that Original.

That unit was on display in the Cub building during RPRU last month.

What model was that built off of? Aren't 123s & up square fenders?

Looks like they started with an Original. This was made before the 123s

As mentioned Charles Ricketts, a Sundstrand engineer, built it as a proof of concept using an Original. It's been restored.

The info is in 50 Years of Cub Cadet by Oscar Will. Great book for anyone on this forum.

As for the decals, my guess is he just used newer looking decals to set it apart when he was presenting, so it didn't look so much like an O.
